Who we are
Deskjobgo (deskjobgo.com) is a free job board for office and desk roles at trade companies, such as dispatch, estimating, purchasing and safety. We are based in San Diego, California. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you create a free candidate profile, we collect your email address and password. Your password is stored in protected (hashed) form.
Profile information. You choose what to add to your profile: your name, city, desk role, skills and a short description.
Training and quiz information. If you take the free Desk Ready training quiz, we collect your name, email address and quiz results.
Messages. If you or an employer contacts us at info@deskjobgo.com, we keep that message and our reply.
Technical information. Like most websites, our site and host may collect basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of your visit.
2. What is shown publicly
Your public profile shows only your first name and last initial, your city, your desk role, your skills and your short description. Your email address and password are never shown publicly.
Please do not put your full name, phone number, address or other private details in your short description, because that text is public.
3. How we use your information
- To create and run your account and profile.
- To let employers browse and search profiles and reach out to candidates.
- To run the Desk Ready training and quiz and show your results.
- To answer your questions and send important account messages.
- To keep the site safe, prevent misuse and fix problems.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. How we share your information
- Employers. Employers can see the public parts of your profile and can use the site to reach out to you.
- Service providers. We use trusted providers to run the site, including Hostinger (website hosting) and Mapbox (city lookup when you enter your city). They only get what they need to provide their service.
- Legal reasons. We may share information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users, Deskjobgo or others.
- Business changes. If Deskjobgo is merged, sold or reorganized, your information may move with the business, and this policy will still apply to it.
5. Cookies
Our site runs on WordPress, which uses cookies to keep you signed in and remember your settings. Mapbox may process data such as your IP address when you use the city lookup. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but some features, like signing in, may not work without them.
6. Your choices
- You can view and edit your profile at any time after signing in.
- You can ask us to delete your account and profile by emailing info@deskjobgo.com.
- You can ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
- California residents may have additional rights under California law, including the right to know, correct and delete personal information. Email us to make a request. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
7. How long we keep information
We keep your account and profile while your account is open. After you delete your account, we remove your profile from public view and delete or anonymize your information within a reasonable time, unless we need to keep some of it for legal or security reasons.
8. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. No website or online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong password that you don’t use elsewhere.
9. Children’s privacy
Deskjobgo is for adults looking for work. You must be at least 18 to create a profile. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
10. Users outside the United States
Deskjobgo is run from the United States. If you use the site from another country, your information will be processed in the United States.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, we may also let you know by email.
